Kellie started playing volleyball in 5th grade and was a Varsity starter 3 years at Bishop Shanahan High School. In her junior year her team took 3rd in the state and Kellie was also awarded All-District and All Chestmont first team. She is currently a senior on the Millersville Womans Volleyball Team. Other playing experience includes 8 years of Club ball with Valley Forge and Exceleration Volleyball clubs and going to the Junior Olympics 5 years. This will be Kellies 3rd year with LAVA and she brings 3 additional years of coaching experience including coaching 5th thru 8th grade in Chester County Volleyball Clinics and also at the United Sports Training Center Volleyball Camp. Last year her 14's Open team brought more top 5 finishes to LAVA than any team in history.
Brittany is a junior at Millersville University. She has been playing volleyball for eight years. She played club for both R&B and Fusion Volleyball clubs. She was a varsity starter for 3 years at Spring Grove High School. She played right side and led her team in kills and blocks her senior year. She also participated in the All Star game representing her high school team. Brittany received high academic and athletic honor in high school. She is now a senior captain for the Millersville University team. This is Brittany's 3rd year with LAVA. Last year her 14's Open team brought more top 5 finishes to LAVA than any team in history.
This will be "Coach Bob’s" 22nd year of coaching girls volleyball and the 5th year at LAVA. He started his coaching career as the J.V and Assistant Varsity coach at Cumberland Valley H.S from 1989 thru 1995 and was the Boys Varsity coach for 2 seasons. He coached at Trinity H.S in 1996, was Varsity Coach at West Perry H.S. in 1997 and was Mechanicsburg H.S. Varsity Girls & Boys coach in 1998/99. While at Mechanicsburg his girls team was undefeated in Divisional play earning them their first ever Division title and earned him "1998 Coach of the Year" from the Carlisle Sentinel. After moving to Orlando, Florida in 1999 he coached at Dr.Phillips H.S.and later at Olympia H.S. Also while in Florida he was club coach for OVA (Orlando Volleyball Acadamy) and later started Orange County Jrs. Other experience includes being the founder of the West Shore YMCA Volleyball Club in 1995 where he was the club and camp director and also coach from 1995-97. He has also coached at the Keystone state games at the 16U and 18U level as well as being the games Regional and Tournament site Director.Bob is currently the J.V. Coach at Palmyra High School.
Jessica is a first year coach with LAVA and is currently a setter for Millersville University. In High School Jess was named to the all-county, all-district and all-state teams in 2008 and 2009. She was a member of the all-state tournament team in 2008 and wasTabbed York/Adams County Player of the Year two years straight. Jess was also the 2008 and 2009 Shipley Award recipient and led Susquehannock to a 2007 District III Championship and a third place at states . She was a Member of 2008 District III Championship and state runner-up team. She helped her team to a 2009 county championship.
Jess also participated in class council, Link Crew, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was a member of National Honor Society and is currently majoring in mathematics.
Jason currently serves as the Assistant Varsity Coach at Lancaster Mennonite High School where he previous held the Assistant JV Coach position.
Jason graduated from Warwick High School in 2006 where he played 4 years of volleyball as an outside hitter and defensive specialist. While he played for the Warriors he gain defensive player of the year 3 out of 4 years.
He attended Lancaster Bible College and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. While at LBC he was utilized as a defensive specialist and outside hitter. He received Coaches Award both years he played for the LBC Chargers
Jason recently got married on May 29th 2011. His wife, April, who played as an opposite hitter and defensive specialist for LMH, and graduated in 2009 will be his assistant.
He works currently for Lancaster General Health as a Web Developer / Analyst.
Steve is currently the Head Varsity Coach at Lancaster Mennonite and also serves as an assistant coach at Millersville University.
He attended the University of Toledo where he was a member of the men’s volleyball team. While playing for the Rockets as a libero and defensive specialist, Goris was a two-time recipient of the Coaches Award.
He coached club volleyball at the Great Lakes Quick Silver Club from 2002-09 when he relocated to Lancaster.
This will be Steve's third yeat coaching for LAVA.
Over the years, Goris has coached players that have moved on to play at the collegiate level at numerous schools, including Slippery Rock University, Wooster College, Kenyon College, Thiel College, and Mt. Union College
Brian has returned to his alma mater and is currently the head coach of the Millersville University volleyball team following one season as its assistant coach.
For the five years prior, Smith served as a coach with the LAVA club volleyball team and has been the club director for the last three years. Smith also has previous experience at the collegiate level as he spent the 2008 season as an assistant at Franklin & Marshall.
In addition to his work at Franklin & Marshall and with LAVA, Smith has coached the junior varsity girls team at Lancaster Mennonite for four years and the boys varsity team for two years. He is also a current board member in the Keystone Region and a USAV official.
Smith gained playing experience during his time in the United States Marine Corps. From 1991-93, Smith was a member of the All-Marine Corps Volleyball Team. He also played at the USAV AA, A and B levels for 14 years.
